I was first introduced to sailing as a seven year old. I went on a family trip overseas! Before leaving Mum said I could get a book, mine was on Sir Peter Blake. I guess you could say the rest is history. I started sailing that summer and was hooked! I started sailing in optis then moved my way up to where I am now! My first keel boat was a Colson 30 called the Atom Ant.
The open division is the only division for a 650 owner.
Solo sailing is a challenge that I have always pursued and in 2014 I completed the New Plymouth to Moolooluba Race and on completing that challenge I became the youngest person to achieve a Tasman crossing. My plan is to have another go in 2017 in my mini.
The Classe 650 is a purpose built ocean going race yacht. Designed to be raced over long distances by a solo crew.
