Marriah is entering her tenth Brisbane to Gladstone under skipper Peter Holm and his wife Kristine. Peter is lining up for his 46th B2G while Kristine is embarking on her 15th.
Designed by Ian Linton and built by Roper Yachts in Sydney in 1982, Marriah is a large volume cruising ketch.
More comfortable as a cruiser than a racer she does limited racing but is a regular in this race and regattas such as the Gaff and Vintage Regatta in June.
While racing is not her forte she can show a competitive turn of speed in moderate reaching conditions. Her best result is an overall first in the PHRF division in 2012 and she took the prize for the Cruising Division in 2006. She has also been part of a successful Federation Cup team.
She comes to this race with a crew that is a combination of old regulars including Graeme Smith and Phil Spry-Bailey and a group new, not only to the boat, but to sailing generally.
